Section 2

(a)   Clause (p): “prescribed” means prescribed by rules made by the “Central Government or, as the case may be, the State Government”.

(a)   For the words "State Government" wherever they occur, the words "Central Government or, as the case may be, the State Government" shall be substituted;

 

(b)   Sub-section (4), clause (iv): the total number of hours of overtime shall not exceed one hundred for any one quarter.

 

(c)   Sub-section (5): Rules made before the commencement of the Factories (Amendment) Act, 2016 under this section shall remain in force for not more than five years.

(b)   Sub-section (4), clause (iv): the total number of hours of overtime shall not exceed fifty for any one quarter.

 

(c)   Sub-section (5): Rules made under this section shall remain in force for not more than five years.

 

Section 65

(a)   For the words "State Government" wherever they occur, the words "Central Government or, as the case may be, the State Government" shall be substituted;

 

(b)   Sub-section (3), clause (iv): Sub-section (3), clause (iv): no worker shall be allowed to work overtime, for more than seven days at a stretch and the total number of hours of overtime work in any quarter shall not exceed one hundred and fifteen.

 

(c)   After sub-section (3) and before the Explanation, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:—"Provided that the Central Government or the State Government or the Chief Inspector with the prior approval of the State Government, as the case may be, may, by order, further extend the total number of hours of overtime work in any quarter up to one hundred and twenty-five in the public interest.".

(b)   Sub-section (3), clause (iv): no worker shall be allowed to work overtime, for more than seven days at a stretch and the total number of hours of overtime work in any quarter shall not exceed seventy-five.

(a)   Sub-section (2) : Every rule made by the Central Government or the State Government under this Act shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before Parliament or, as the

case may be, the State Legislature.".
